Presidential Powers vis-à-vis Supreme Court Intervention The problem between the office of the Governor and state governments in India is perhaps as old as the days of independence in 1947. But it became more acute much later due to political compulsions of ruling dispensation at the centre. NEW DELHI: BHARATH RATNA & 2nd HAND CARS In the last week of May 2025, there was this print media report “ANANT NAG RECIEVES PADMA BHUSHAN” with photograph of President Draupadi Murmu handing over the citation to Kannada actor Anant Nag and to actor dancer Shobana, besides Padmashree to musician Ricky Gyan Kej. There were many in public life congratulating the Kannada actor for the award. Ostensibly these awards were given to them for their contribution to the films they were involved in for many years. We all know that those who are in the films, are in the film industry only to promote themselves. It brought them name, fame and fortune. Now this award, a national recognition, the third highest civilian award. Quite frankly it baffles logic.
