What They Said
Congratulation!! on the 10th Anniversary of the magazine. I have been a regular reader of your magzine and also life member. The 10th anniversary copy of “ Issues and concern” is very colourful. The effort by the editor in bringing the magzine regularly is praise worthy. The editorial is good and is a mirror on the current issues of the society. The magazine has health tips as well. The article ““Let’s integrate “ by Dr. Chitralekha in this issues is really good and gives us food for thought. Wishing the I & C all the best for the future

I & C 10th Anniversary
Having been associated with I&C, from its inception, I was glad I managed to reach Bengaluru for the 10th Anniversary. It was indeed an occasion to remember, as we all feel concerned about the current affairs and what our country is going through at this moment of time. Its not easy to publish a magazine, month after month for 120+ months, without the backing of an industrial house or a capital venture, that too without much of advertising revenue… However passion succeeds and wins over skepticism, giving the much needed energy and motivation to carry on the mission. I&C has done it successfully. That’s our friend Jayaram Shriyan. Jai Ho!
Now looking back, as one of the early subscribers for the magazine, at a meager Rs. 1000/-, for life membership, I can admire the commitment behind the same. And believe me the life membership will be valid for another 15 years. I sincerely wish I&C all the very best in this endeavour and congratulate the team on the same.
Has anyone ever stopped to ponder over the fact that such a task has been responsibly accomplished, and is committed to continue. Imagine the sense of attachment to get the truth reach out. But is it giving us sufficient mileage and are there returns? I am asking this question once again, because, today the scams after scams are being exposed even before the dust settles down. Should we not have a platform to cry ‘foul’. Enough is enough. When the ministers take oath, they commit themselves to honesty and integrity. Such an oath should specifically include ‘not taking bribes’ and ‘not involving misappropriation’ and it may not be out of place to enforce a monthly reminder of such an oath…
A debate on this issue should start, and may be I&C can initiate this with the same commitment, which we the readers of I&C can support. The gross scams reported in the last 15 days (committed over a long period, but surfaced only now!), involving the former CM of Maharashtra, Ashok Chavan, whom we perceived to be an upright politician, in the misappropriation of allotment of flats in Adarsh CHS. Karnataka CM Yediyurappa, involved in sanctioning as many as 6 industrial plots to his own family members, chairman of CWG Suresh
Kalmadi in the multi crore scam in setting up the infrastructure for CWG. Even the newly appointed CM of Maharashtra, is facing a PIL now, regarding his holding a flat in Bhakti Park, Wadala, Mumbai, under the low income strata, which he has not disclosed in his nomination for Rajyasabha. The Adarsh CHS allotments include the Ex Commissioner of Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Jayraj Pathak. Many other IAS officers, Political friends who helped in facilitating such allotments, also embroiled in the Adarsh CHS scam, meant for Kargil victims. In light of these, tell me, do we need terrorists to uproot our stability? These are disturbing factors. Someone has to come down to the street to protest against such thick skinned, greedy politicians and bureaucrats. Coming back to where I started, let’s appreciate the efforts of I&C in reaching out with the concerns to various families though the monthly magazine. Can we now look for a movement to bring about this change and ask for honest and selfless leaders with integrity, patriotism, passion for bringing about changes in our society and help India grow from strength to strength, in becoming a global power, which its already on the way. Are you listening???
