What They Said

December 2010 issue editorial and articles are simply thought provoking on all accounts. Hearty congratulations to you on the 10th anniversary of the magazine.
Your account of the sustenance of ISSUES & CONCERNS for the past 10 years was indeed relevant and touching. I am sending herewith a cheque for Rs. 1,500/- being my contribution for the good cause you are promoting. Being a well wisher, I would like to sincerely wish ISSUES & CONCERNS many more years of constructive, educative and purposeful journalism. .T.Karunakara Rai, Bangalore

Hearty Congratulations on completing 10 years of Journalistic excellence. I have been a regular reader of Issues and Concern since the last five years or so. If I have to describe the magazine in one word, then ‘Brilliant’ is how I will call it. The editorials have been mind blowing. The entire month’s political and other headlines would be suitably dealt with by the Editor. Articles by Professor B M Hegde on health matters, M V Kamath on Politics, Occasional articles by V K Thalithaya have always enthralled me. Regarding the Quality of articles, ‘Issues & Concerns’ beat other magazines like India Today, The Outlook, and The Week any day!! It might have taken ten years to build your reader base. You have certainly arrived as a serious player in the media.. I wish you grow in all ways and emerge as the frontrunner and take up all issues and concerns affecting the Nation.
Your December issue is in my hand. I liked your Focus on Free Speech and Media Dishonesty. You have torn apart Arundathi Roy, Gilani and ‘The Hindu’ for their bias and dishonesty. I fully agree that Nation comes first. Freedom of Speech does not mean , one has the liberty to go against our own Nation. You have exposed the doublespeak of ‘The Hindu’. India stands on four pillars, Legislation, Judiciary, the Executive and the Free Press. Each one has to play an honest role to take our Nation forward. Cracks are wide open in all the four pillars. It does not augur well for our Nation. The recent exposure of Nira Radia tapes exposes the nexus between Media, Industry and politics. Adarsh housing Scam is yet another incident of Political - Military nexus in corruption. Well, the only hope is for the silent majority to wake up and save the Nation. Let ‘Issues and Concerns ‘ be the real Crusader of National Values and carry on the good work and be the VOX POPULI. of the Nation.
