In Pakistan a 3 year old grabs land!

Islamabad : In a bizzare case, a three-year- old Pakistani boy was  booked by police for allegedly grabbing land and stealing property here, according to a PTI report.
The police at the Shalimar police station in Islamabad registered case against the child for his alleged involvement in the crime in sector F-10.
He is accused of grabbing land of a plaza and stealing its property.
The infant’s family  approached the court to secure a bail before arrest for the toddler, Geo TV reported. Upon seeing the matter the bench expressed its displeasure over Islamabad police’s blunder and demanded to know from the child’s legal counsel if securing a bail was even warranted, it reported.
The counsel informed the court that since the child is mentioned in the FIR, therefore bail before arrest is being sought. At this, the additional sessions judge remarked that 'if one institution makes a mistake should the court also keep its eyes closed!' The court has summoned the Station House Officer and the investigation officer to appear before the court and explain their position.
It is not for the first time that a child has been booked in criminal case in Pakistan. Last year, Lahore police booked a nine-month-old infant for attempted murder. Police is deemed as highly corrupt and inefficient in the country.  It still works on the pattern of colonial era with specific laws and power which were meant for a country under external occupation.

Jesus as army general!

A beloved statue of Jesus looked likely to get an unsolicited promotion to general in the Guatemalan army – until the church and president stepped in, officials said. The statue, known as Jesus de la Merced, is paraded through the streets of the capital ahead of Easter in centuries-old traditions brought in by former colonial power Spain.  The local parish priest in the neighborhood church where the statue is kept, Orlando Aguilar, said in a Christmas Eve mass that on January 3 the statue would be promoted to the rank of general in the Guatemalan army. Many in the local media got rumors buzzing, and suggested that the honor was to be conferred ahead of the 300th anniversary of the blessing of the statue in 2017.

When Police justified assault by public

New York: A 20-year-old man landed in the intensive care unit (ICU) of a hospital after he spilled out the ending of the movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at a US theatre, reports IANS.
The man, Raymond Chatfield, walked out of a premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and shouted out a major spoiler in front of at least 100 people waiting in the lobby for the next show, thegoodlordabove.com reported. “I was waiting in line to see the evening show. Then this kid walks past the line, shouts out the ending and starts laughing. He totally ruined the movie for everyone,” a witness said.
Three men, who were waiting in the lobby, donning suits of Star Wars characters, assaulted and critically injured the man. He was later admitted in the ICU in Bakersfield city, California.
“I saw it all. This guy shouts out the spoiler right? Within 15 seconds, he was on the ground, getting beaten up by three men,” another witness said.
“At first, the crowd was cheering the assaulters, and I think that made it worse. They beat him up for five minutes, kicking and punching him in the gut,” the witness added.
Police did not arrest the assaulters and allowed them to watch the movie as planned. “We view this as justifiable assault,” a police officer said.

Tight jeans cause collapse

Adelaide:  An Australian woman whose skinny jeans cut off the blood supply to her calf muscles collapsed and was forced to crawl to seek help, media reported. The 35-year-old woman from Adelaide, who doctors have labelled a "fashion victim", suffered nerve damage severe enough to bring about numbness. She had to spend four days in hospital. A consultant neurologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Thomas Kimber said the woman's decision to wear the restrictive leg-hugging denim had brought about the medical episode, ABC reported.

On son’s passport mother travels

Lahore : In an embarrassment to Pakistan’s national carrier, UAE authorities have slapped a fine of 5,000 dirhams on PIA for a major security breach when it allowed a woman passenger to travel to Dubai on her son’s British passport.
“Perhaps this is most embarrassing incident in the (Pakistan International Airlines) PIA’s recent history and it could not have taken place by mistake,” a senior PIA official said.
PIA Lahore spokesman Athar Awan told PTI that the immigration and PIA officials at the Lahore airport allowed Afshan Siddiqui to board a PIA flight for Dubai on the passport of her son on December 16.
“She had the British passport of her son and the officials might have overlooked the gender difference seeing the British passport,” he said.
When she reached Dubai, the immigration authorities detained her and asked how she managed to travel on her son’s passport, terming it a “most unusual case”.
Siddiqui said she mistakenly carried the passport of her son and did not notice it and nor the immigration and PIA officials pointed it out to her.
The Dubai immigration authorities sent her back home on next flight on December 17 and slapped a fine of 5,000 dirham (USD 1,361) on the PIA.
“The PIA has launched an inquiry into the incident to find out those responsible for this gross negligence,” the spokesman said.
