Ballooning womb, but doctors say its IBS
London: Belinda Waite, a 21-year-old woman from Bampton, Devon, gave birth to a baby girl-just three hours after doctors told her she was pregnant.
During the past 9 months, hairdresser Waite had been to the local hospital several times. The doctors at the hospital had told her that she had a severe case of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and gout. In fact she was pregnant with a healthy baby girl who arrived a month ago.
Waite, known as Billy, said: "You read about these stories in magazines but you never think they happen to real people and I certainly never thought it would happen to me." Waite was staying with her partner Wyane Boyles, 28, when she unexpectedly went into labour. Their baby daughter Louise Boyles was born at home weighing 81b 140z by Wayne’s mum Syliva.
"I did feel like something was moving inside me as the months went on. But I never considered I was pregnant and it doesn’t seem to have crossed the doctor’s minds."
On February 6th – the night before Louise was born – Miss Waite again went to the hospital with pains through out her body.
At 10 pm doctors confirmed she was three months pregnant –in fact she was nine months pregnant – and Louise arrived four and a half hours later at 2.30 am.

Who failed whom?
Paris: A French man killed his wife of over 21 years as she didn’t want to have children. He then told the police: "Excuse me for disturbing you, I’ve killed my wife."
Philippe Cousin, 53, said he had ‘mid life crisis’ when he approached 50 without a child. He blamed it on his 47-year-old wife Nicole, who remained a virgin despite them being married two decades.
Following an argument, cousin allegedly took a kitchen knife to his wife’s neck before slicing her head off. The crime took place in April 2007 but Cousin went on trial in France.
Cousins also told the police: "I’m sorry for the work which I’ve given you. My wife shouted my name out, I decapitated her. You realise that, and I’m not mad!"
He said his wife’s inability to have children was responsible for their arguments. She apparently feared that she would pass on her father’s multiple sclerosis through his genes, the court was told.

Napkin in woman’s womb
In an instance of medical negligence, doctors who operated upon a woman in Thane’s civil hospital left a sanitary napkin in her womb, causing a great pain and misery to the woman and her relatives.
Naina Kamble, resident of Patlipada in Thane, was admitted to the civil hospital for her delivery. Three days after the delivery she was discharged from the hospital and came home.
But soon she started experiencing abdominal pain and felt giddiness. She consulted a doctor and took medicine but the pain continued to increase. At last she consulted Dr Shashikala Ghuge, a gynecologist who diagnosed her condition and found that there was a sanitary napkin inside her womb.
She operated upon Naina and retrieved the napkin. "Had the napkin continued to remain embedded, it would have proved fatal for her", Dr Ghurge said.

Indian-origin woman sets husband on fire
Adelaide: An Indian-origin woman, who allegedly set fire to her husband’s penis, will stand trial for the man’s murder. Rajani Narayan, 44, has been committed to stand trial in the South Australian Supreme Court after pleading not guilty to murder, arson and three counts of endangering life in an Adelaide court, the Herald Sun repoted. The mother of three allegedly set fire to her husband’s genitals in December 2008. After suffering from major burns, her husband Sthish Narayan died in hospital several weeks later. The fire also gutted the family’s Adelaide home, leaving a damage bill of about 1 million dollars, the paper said. According to a previous court hearing, Rajani had reportedly told neighbours: "I’m a jealous wife, his penis should belong to me. I just wanted to burn his penis, so it belongs to me and no one else. I didn’t want this to happen." In the Adelaide Magestrate Court, defence counsel Lindy Powel QC said it was conceded Narayan had a case to answer.
