Pet dog forced to smoke
Kharghar police have fined two youths and a pet owner Rs 2,500 each for forcing his pet dog to smoke a cigarette, which amounts to cruelty. Animal activists had lodged a case under Section 119 of the Maharashtra Police Act on Thursday on coming across a video of the incident circulating on Snapchat. The animal has been rescued and will soon be put up for adoption at a better home.
Dog’s heroic act to save mentor
NewYork: A brave guide dog jumped in front of a fast moving school bus here to save its visually impaired women owner from being hit and ended up fracturing its own leg.
Figo, a golden retriever, is being praised by the people for its heroic act, underwent a surgery following the incident and is said to be on the mend in New York’s Putnan Country. Audrey Stone, the dog’s owner, is hospitalized with a broken ankle, elbow and three cracked ribs, The Journal News reported.
The dog will stay at the vet’s until Stone is ready to go home. Figo’s leg was cut to the bone. Figo and Stone were out for a walk when Figo saw a school minibus barreling toward them, police said.
The dog threw itself at the closest part of the bus. The bus driver, who had two kindergarten students on board, did not see the pair crossing the road, police said. No one on the bus was injured. The driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
‘Fight club’ at nursery
New York: Two women in the United States have been arrested for organizing a “Fight Club” where preschoolers and kindergartners were encouraged to brawl with each other on a play ground at a US nursery.
Erica Kenny, 22, of Cranford, and Chanese White, 28, of Roselle – both former day care workers – referenced the movie Fight Club as they encouraged pre-schoolers and kindergartners to fight each other on the playground at the Lightbridge Academy in Cranford, New Jersey.
“About a dozen children – boys and girls between the ages 4 and 6 – just fighting; throwing each other to the ground; hitting each others,” said Union County Prosecutor Grace Park.
Kenny allegedly shot video of the fights and sent them to a group of people on an app, prosecutors said.
“Most parents would be astonished by the behavior,” acting union country prosecutor Grace Park told WCBS-TV. The videos shows about a dozen boys and girls shoving each other to the ground and trying to hit each other, according to prosecutors. The charges stem from August 13, but investigators are looking into whether the fights were ongoing.
Hulk Hogan as U.S Vice President
Washington: Hulk Hogan, one of the world’s best known wrestlers, has said he wants to enter another ring altogether and be Republican presidential front runner Donald Trump’s running mate.
Hogan, whose wrestling career was hit after a video emerged of him in which he appeared to use a racial slur, said he would love to join the GOP front-runner as his running mate in the 2016 presidential polls. Asked by TMZ which presidential candidate he would want to take on in the ring, Hogan, who found fame with WWF, said, “I don’t want to be in the ring with any candidates, I want to be Trump’s running mate.”
“Did you hear that? Vice President Hogan!” he said. Hogan said he thinks America is ready for a Donald Trump-Hulk Hogan 2016 White House ticket. The WWE scrubbed all mentions of its biggest star from its website in July after he allegedly made the racist rant. In a statement after the video became public, Hogan apologized. If the partnership materializes, it will be the most politically incorrect political pairing ever a tag team of Donald Trump and Hogan. Trump is no stranger to controversial comments himself. Billionaire Trump offended many Hispanics by declaring earlier this year that Mexico was importing drug dealers and rapists to the US.
